Online Communication Business Assignment

Yeti

The business I chose to research this week is Yeti. Yeti is a well known company selling drinkware, coolers, bags, and more. They are best known to outdoor enthusiasts. Yeti can be found on just about every social media platform online.

Does the company do a good job communicating on its website and social media platforms?

Yeti has many different social media platforms and a very easy-to-navigate and attractive website. They are consistently posting new items and color drops, along with how people use their products for customers to see. They are also often a sponsored brand on my Instagram and Facebook apps. They make all of their posts and information about the brand easy to read and eye-catching to consumers!

On the company website, what is featured at the top, in the middle, and the bottom of the homepage? Why do you think they have it organized that way? In your opinion is it effective?

When looking at the company's website they make the newest color collection the most noticeable feature of their website when you first open it. They placed a navigation bar at the very top of their website allowing an array of options for shoppers to choose from. The bulk of the website's homepage is highlighted products. The bottom of the homepage shows shipping details as well as company information such as: customer support, about the company, store locations, and privacy and compliance information. I think they chose to organize their website in this way to give customers an idea of what is new and popular. It is also a very eye-catching and inviting format that makes the experience enjoyable for anyone accessing their website.

Does the business communicate an identity online?

I think that the company does communicate an identity online. They post multiple times a week showing different different products that they have, sponsored creators, and everything outdoors! This brand gives a gritty, hard-working feel that is then portrayed to the products that they sell.

Where could the company improve its online communication?

I think if the company were to try and improve their communication they could attempt reaching new customers. This is a difficult way to improve though. They have developed an outdoorsy, tough, gritty identity, and to reach more people may mean softening that image and looking into more of an urban city feel.
